Netherlands-Based Bitvavo Secures Regulatory Approval in France
Bitvavo, a Dutch-based cryptocurrency exchange, gains regulatory approval in France to operate as a digital asset service provider, aligning with its goal to become Europe's largest crypto exchange.
The authorization from France's Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) enables Bitvavo to launch its products and services in France, a key market for European expansion due to its protective regulatory framework.
Bitvavo plans to roll out various products across Europe, buoyed by regulatory approvals in Austria and France, aiming for widespread growth with a focus on compliance and transparent transaction fees. The company also notes the importance of regulatory compliance in light of Binance's settlement with the DOJ.

Axie Infinity Starts Giving NFT Owners Commercial Rights:
Sky Mavis launches an official merch store for Axie Infinity and permits owners of 4,877 Mystic and Origin Axie NFTs to commercially use their characters for merchandise and businesses.
This move allows a small percentage (0.04%) of total Axie NFT owners to create and monetize user-generated content, potentially opening more commercial opportunities for additional NFT owners in the future.
Axie Infinity, a leading NFT game, also plans to expand its merch store offerings in 2024, with incentives like free Axie NFTs for early buyers and a portion of merch profits allocated to the Axie Community Treasury for decentralized decision-making.
Azuki DAO Rebrands to ‘Bean’:
Azuki DAO, centered around the Azuki NFT collection, rebrands to "Bean" and abandons its lawsuit against the collection's founder, Zagabond, concerning a $39 million minting issue.
Bean, now a memecoin project within the Ethereum layer-2 Blast ecosystem, has reportedly secured $10 million in funding and plans to issue a total of 1 billion Bean tokens, adjusting its initial token supply plan.
The rebranding follows controversy over the Elemental PFPs release by Zagabond, which resembled Azuki PFPs and led to a 44% price drop in Azuki NFTs, sparking a community lawsuit proposal against Zagabond, now dropped by Bean.
