Skate Takes An App-Centric Approach To L2 Fragmentation:
  • The emergence of numerous blockchain networks has highlighted user experience limitations due to application fragmentation across different chains, leading to inefficient operations and increased development costs.

  • Skatechain, previously known as Range Protocol, aims to create a universal application layer for all chains, addressing the issue of redundant development efforts and fragmented liquidity by enabling seamless interaction of decentralized applications across various blockchains.

  • Skatechain proposes a hub and spoke model that relies on transactions being matched and executed by off-chain executors, with the application logic and unified state maintained on Skatechain while assets remain on their native chains. This approach is expected to provide a better user experience and efficiency for dapp developers and users.

  • Since its Series B round, Brim Financial has achieved milestones such as partnering with TrueNorth to offer a credit card-as-a-service platform in the US and Canada, and teaming with Mastercard to modernize credit card infrastructure.

  • Project Agorá aims to integrate tokenized commercial bank deposits with tokenized wholesale central bank money within a programmable core financial platform to enhance the speed and integrity of international payments while reducing costs.

  • The initiative follows the successful conclusion of BIS' Project Mariana, which explored the cross-border settlement capabilities of wholesale central bank digital currencies.
