Institute for Blockchain and Crypto Research Opens in France:
The Institute of Crypto-Assets, a pioneering initiative for blockchain and cryptocurrency research, was officially inaugurated at the Léonard de Vinci Centre in Paris.
The institute features a scientific board of 11 experts from prestigious French institutions and a committee of practitioners, including prominent figures from Ledger and Paymium.
France is positioning itself as a leader in the digital economy within Europe, with significant investments in AI and a notable 27% share of new fintech investment deals in the crypto sector during the market crisis in early 2023.
JPMorgan Adds Programmable Payments to JPM Coin:
JPMorgan has introduced programmable payments to its JPM Coin blockchain-based payment system, allowing companies to automate fund transfers based on specific conditions.
The feature aims to optimize fund management, particularly in high-interest rate environments, by facilitating instant and condition-based transfers, unlike traditional batched transfers.
The technology has been adopted by Siemens AG for managing fund shortfalls, marking a significant step in traditional financial firms integrating programmable payments at scale.

Coinbase Launches KYC Service on Base:
Coinbase has introduced its Verifications platform, integrating know-your-customer (KYC) policies directly into blockchain technology for enhanced security and transparency.
Utilizing the Ethereum Attestation Service (EAS) on Coinbase's layer-2 Base, the Verifications platform allows for public and composable attestations, aiming to address issues like Sybil attacks.
This development marks Coinbase's foray into decentralized identity verification, following the emergence of similar protocols like Proof of Humanity, and coincides with a recent uptick in Coinbase's stock performance.
