Fox Launches Blockchain-Based Platform With Polygon Labs:
Fox Corporation has partnered with Polygon Labs to launch Verify, a blockchain-based, open-source platform on Polygon PoS, aimed at authenticating and tracking content across the web to address AI-generated media authenticity issues.
The platform allows publishers to cryptographically sign content on-chain, enabling consumers to verify trusted sources. Since its beta launch in August, Verify has onboarded 89,000 pieces of content from Fox and its affiliates.
This move by Fox, amidst recent defamation litigations, reflects an effort to combat inauthenticity allegations and aligns with broader efforts to manage the intersection of AI technology and media in the global market.
BitPay Enables Gucci, Movie Ticket, and Mortgage Purchases:
BitPay, a leading Bitcoin and cryptocurrency payment service, is enhancing its customer payment experience by supporting numerous new cryptocurrencies, including Uniswap (UNI) and Binance Coin (BNB), for use with major merchants.
The update includes BitPay’s Bill Pay solution, allowing users to settle a variety of bills, including credit cards, mortgages, and auto loans, with major providers. The platform also offers a crypto debit card for instant conversion of cryptocurrencies.
BitPay is expanding its offerings to include personal loan repayments and has partnered with Method Financial for real-time bill retrieval. The Bill Pay feature is available in select states on Android and iOS devices, and the company recently added support for XRP to facilitate global transactions.

X Removes Support For NFT Profile Pictures:
Elon Musk's company X has outlined plans for 2024, including peer-to-peer payments and AI tools, while quietly removing the feature for paid subscribers to set NFTs as profile pictures, a capability introduced in January 2022.
The NFT profile picture feature, previously exclusive to Twitter Blue subscribers and displaying NFTs as hexagonal avatars, has been removed from the X Premium support page, though existing hexagonal avatars remain for now.
This move aligns with a broader trend in social media, as other networks like Instagram and Facebook have also scaled back their NFT initiatives, despite signs of recovery in the NFT market with trade volumes exceeding $1.6 billion.
Delinea Acquires Identity Security Innovator Authomize:
Delinea, known for its PAM (Privileged Access Management) solutions, has acquired Authomize, a leader in identity-based threat detection in the cloud, aiming to enhance cloud security and identity threat mitigation.
The acquisition will integrate Authomize's continuous discovery and visibility capabilities into Delinea's SaaS solutions for PAM. This integration seeks to protect against identity-based attacks in cloud environments, with Delinea also establishing a new research and development center in Israel.
The combined expertise of Delinea and Authomize will offer advanced threat detection and risk mitigation across SaaS applications, cloud, and hybrid infrastructures, addressing the growing complexity and security challenges in cloud environments.
Salmon Secures Controlling Stake in Filipino Bank:
Salmon, a Southeast Asian FinTech startup, has received approval from the Monetary Board of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas to acquire a 59.7% controlling interest in the Rural Bank of Sta. Rosa (Laguna), thus becoming a licensed bank in the Philippines.
With this acquisition, Salmon plans to launch AI-driven financial products nationwide, aiming to democratize banking services for underserved Filipinos, and is preparing to open new branches in key locations like Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao.
This strategic move positions Salmon among the few FinTech players with a licensed banking entity in Southeast Asia. The company is recognized for its high customer satisfaction rate and plans to expand its reach to more underserved communities in the Philippines.
