Sandbox to Team With Notorious B.I.G.’s Estate:
  • The Sandbox metaverse has launched a Notorious B.I.G. experience, “Breakin’ B.I.G.,” in collaboration with Warner Music Group and the late rapper's estate, featuring a Brooklyn-inspired area paying tribute to Christopher Wallace.

  • The interactive experience allows players to engage with Biggie's non-playable avatar in a 2D arcade-style world, completing various quests related to his music and career.

  • This initiative includes a new NFT avatar collection and an update to Warner Music Group’s social hub, adding to the list of celebrities like Elvis Presley and Snoop Dogg featured in The Sandbox. Warner Music's foray into blockchain continues with other projects like branded character skins with Ready Player Me and a music accelerator with Polygon Labs.

Brazil’s Largest Bank Launches Bitcoin Trading:
  • Itaú Unibanco, Brazil's largest private bank, has launched a cryptocurrency trading service for Bitcoin and Ether on its ion investment platform, joining other financial institutions like Nubank and BTG Pactual in offering crypto trading.

  • The service will initially be available to selected ion-registered customers, with a gradual rollout and a focus on regulatory compliance. The bank will manage the custody of Bitcoin traded on ion but won't allow external Bitcoin deposits or withdrawals to personal digital wallets.

  • Guto Antunes, head of Itaú Digital Assets, highlights the bank's effort to attract new customers interested in Bitcoin, offering the same security as traditional banking. The move reflects traditional banks' cautious approach to integrating cryptocurrencies into their services.

Nubank Partners With Circle For USDC Integration:
  • Nubank, a Brazilian neobanking unicorn, has partnered with Circle, the issuer of USDC, to extend USDC access to its Brazilian customers, with a gradual rollout planned.

  • The initial integration of USDC will occur on Nubank's crypto platform, Nubank Cripto, allowing Brazilian users to purchase and hold the USD-backed stablecoin, with plans to integrate into Nubank’s broader digital banking platforms.

  • This partnership aligns with Nubank's expansion in crypto offerings, including launching its own cryptoasset, Nucoin, and working on a real digital CBDC pilot project with the Central Bank of Brazil. Nubank has already added multiple cryptocurrencies to its platform and expressed interest in converting a portion of its funds to BTC.

Allica Bank Partners With Wise Platform For Cross-Border Payment:
  • Allica Bank in the UK has teamed up with Wise Platform to offer cross-border payments for UK businesses, particularly those with 10 to 250 employees.

  • This collaboration enables Allica Bank's customers to make transparent, low-cost payments to 160 countries, with no hidden fees or exchange rate mark-ups, directly through Allica Bank’s mobile app.

  • The integration aims to simplify international payments for businesses, providing upfront information about fees and the exact amount the recipient will receive, aligning with Allica Bank's mission to offer efficient banking solutions to established businesses. Wise Platform currently partners with over 70 banks and enterprises globally.

Michael Jackson’s First-Ever Studio Demo to be Released On Chain:
  • Michael Jackson's first-ever studio recording, “Big Boy (One-Derful Version),” is set to be released as a "digital vinyl" on the blockchain music platform Anotherblock on Dec. 7, over five decades after its recording.

  • The track, recorded by an eight-year-old Michael Jackson and his brothers in 1967, will be available for four days in both open and limited editions, complete with images of the master tape and song stems.

  • This release, a collaboration between Recordpool and Anotherblock, is part of a trend to preserve musical heritage in the digital age, with support from artists' estates, including Katherine Jackson, Michael’s mother, who expressed excitement over the timeless nature of the Jacksons’ story and music.
